Every now and then it’s nice to enhance digital images with frames and other effects. Easy Photo Frame is a basic program that lets users apply frames and stamps to their digital images. Although the program works, we can’t say we were particularly impressed by its layout or contents.
Easy Photo Frame’s interface is plain and fairly easy to figure out, but it could be better organized. A large preview pane displays the image the user is working with and the effects that have been applied, while a smaller pane below displays available frames and stamps. There are two drop-down menus, one for frames and one for stamps, each of which contains options organized by genre. The strange thing about this is that the same pane displays both frames and stamps, depending on which drop-down menu you choose from. The frames and stamps themselves vary in quality; some are fairly nice-looking, while others are of the cheesy clip-art variety. The program has a handful of other photo editing features, including red eye correction, cropping and rotation tools, and color adjustment. Although there is a Help file, it’s more a list of features than anything else. In general, Easy Photo Frame is nothing to write home about, but it’s not a bad program for basic photo editing and effects.
Easy Photo Frame is free to try, but the trial version restricts the number of frames and stamps that can be used, and there’s also a nag screen. The program installs politely but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
