DFS

For some reason my macbook will not connect to my wifi network, when I have entered in the correct WEP password (double and triple checked). It just says there was an error and could not connect to the selected network. The thing is my iphone connects fine, and so do the PCs in the house. It’s a new network, and I have done everything from restarting my mac to running the diagnostic…but nothing seems to work. Anyone know what’s up?

I am running my pc in safe mode with networking right now and I’ve run Avast! antivirus which detected some 48 infected files after I was hit hard by a nasty *** virus last night. It was able to quarantine most of the files, however some critical things such as explorer.exe can not be repaired/removed/anything because it is a system file. If I start windows normally instead of in safe mode all that happens is it boots up to a black screen with a cursor.. I can open task manager and attempt to manually start explorer.exe but it gives me an error message saying the file can not be initiated because it is infected by a virus. I have been moping my way around google trying to find a solution to this problem but so far all I’ve found out is that simply replacing the explorer.exe file usually doesn’t fix the problem because the virus will still be there. What will happen if I do a fresh install of windows? Will it delete all of my files on my hard drives such as games/movies/music/pictures etc? Or does it just fresh install windows and leave everything else in place? I can’t remember which it is because when I know when I built the pc it had to format the hard drives before they could be used but I can’t remember if that’s just because they were new or because that’s what it has to do when installing windows… I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
