Having A Computer Virus/spyware Problem And I Have No Idea What Do?
I don’t recall downloading anything but I run all these .exe programs alot so I think that might be what started it. Well, now every once in a while a fake window will pop up saying stuff like, ‘You’re not protected!’. When I click on it, or on the X button, a windows explorer window comes up, and it takes me to a website that apparently sells antispyware and stuff. I know itd all fake! Also, sometimes a little icon next to the time in the bottom of my screen appears with a caution sign. I know thats fake too, so I never click on it! I tried scanning my computer with McAfee, and it went extremely slow, and it didn’t discover anything! I tried Spybot Search & Destroy, and it found something called ‘Smitfraud-C.’, and when I clicked to fix it, it said it did, and then seconds later it said that objects were trying to come back or something and I denied the change. {description continued in comments}

HELP!! My computer just came down with a virus named “XP Smart Security 2010″?
How can I get rid of it? My Malwarebytes can’t find it. My ESET can’t find it either! I fixed it!! I called the Geek Squad, and they said it was a virus and it would cost me around $200 to fix it. Well, I definitely can’t do that, so I started tinkering around with it. Nothing on the internet would show me how to fix it, nothing even mentioned it. But, I pulled up an article online on a similar virus, and it said something about av.exe. When I searched for the file, nothing came up. But, I had Task Manager pulled up when one windows popped up. I hit End Task, and it said it wasn’t responding. Then I had it show me the error report, and VOILA! It showed me the files associated with the virus. I went to the folder, deleted it, and everything returned back to normal!! Praise God!
