I ordered two of these cords and hoped that they would at least last long enough to get a few uses out of them.
To my surprise, they are sturdier than the ones that came with my laptop originally. I’ve been using them daily for a few months now with no glitches. They work perfectly!

The product was as expected and the connector fit my gateway laptop perfectly. The price was pretty low BUT I see why now. The AC cord to the adapter is very short maybe 18 inches and is three prong. So if you want a longer AC cord you’ll need a three prong extension. To fix that I bought a longer AC cord from a local merchant. At first this seemed fine but with use I notice the DC cord from the adapter is much shorter than the original by about a foot. I know this seems picky but it is short enough that when I have the laptop on a tall table and don’t want the AC adapter in the way, the cord is not quite long enough to allow the adapter to sit on the floor. Instead it hangs in the air and it weighs down the cord which puts added straing on the DC connector in the laptop. I don’t want to risk breaking the DC connector in the laptop because if you can find someone to repair it, it is very costly.
Had I known this I would have spent more for an adapter with longer cords. So beware.

This item shipped quickly but is already coming apart where the cord attaches to the box. The cord was shorter than we expected, but to be fair we did not ask about the length.

I recently bought an Acer laptop from Costco. I’m happy with the laptop, but Acer has not yet spun up a good way to buy accessories for laptops. I needed an extra power supply, so I searched and found this one on Amazon. Great price, works fine, no problems. One note – it’s shorter than the one that ships with the laptop. This is perfect for the use I had, but may not work for your situation.
