This book will cover some of the more common backup applications, such as Symantec NetBackup/BackupExec, EMC NetWorker, IBM TSM, and CommVault, but the main discussion will focus on the implementation of 21st century architectures that allow the backup software to be a “commodity” item. The underlying architecture provides the framework for meeting the requirements of data protection for the organization.

This book covers new developments in data protection, specifically the definition and application of both source and target based de-duplication strategies, as well as the impact of single-instance storage upon backup infrastructures. I was wondering how can i do data backup for important files on a CD and then reinstall windows and put the files back in. Is that possible to do? Please give me some idea im going crazy here.
