Freeware Avast Antivirus 5.0.507 or version 5 is a reliable software and I have tried the security tool myself. It is formerly named Home Edition it offers protection for your PC against malicious threats with the quality almost on par with the paid version of anti virus on the market. My personal review is this tool is an anti virus you can rely on. It update itself whenever new virus definitions update is available and when the Internet connection is on. When the new version of Avast! comes out it will alert you and ask your permission to upgrade itself.

I use Avast! freeware antivirus together with Lavasoft Ad-Aware antispyware and find no incompatibility problem. This free anti virus block malware with by activating its’ several guards which are antivirus, antispyware, real-time malware shields and heuristics engines form a security core. Most people might find this problem usually occurs when they first installing a security tool – the Internet connection has problem or the computer becomes slow. However this is how happening to my computer (I am using a Compaq laptop with AMD processor), Flock and Firefox web browsers. However Avast! 5 Free version not possesses the features only available on the paid version such as testing sandbox, firewall, antispam and script shield. However it is still a reliable freeware antivirus which is worthwhile for your PC so try it out.
